About Port of Dar es Salaam
Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's principal port, owned by the government through the Tanzania Ports Authority and handling around 90 per cent of the country's cargo. It has 11 berths with a total length of over 2,600 metres. Since 2024 most berths have been run by private concessionaires.
Area served: The port is the gateway for landlocked Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and Malawi, linked by road, the TAZARA railway to Zambia and a standard gauge railway under construction towards the Great Lakes.

DP World took over Berths 0 to 7 in April 2024 under a 30-year concession. Berth 0 is a dedicated berth for pure car carriers, with a draught of 12.9 m, and DP World says the switch to pure car and truck carrier operations has cut vehicle discharge times sharply. In early 2026 one vessel discharged 779 car equivalent units in just over 27 hours. Container Terminal 2 is operated separately by Adani International Ports Holdings on a 30-year concession.

UK Vehicle Collection & Delivery
We collect any vehicle from any UK address and deliver it to the departure port at £1 per mile, driven on DVLA plates or moved on a carrier, timed to meet the booked sailing.

Paintwork Reconditioning
Where a car would arrive the better for it, we can recondition the paintwork before it ships — worth doing while the vehicle is with us rather than paying to sort it out after it lands. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
UK Vehicle Customs Clearance
We make export declarations directly on the UK customs system and prepare every document needed at the UK port of exit, including the Bill of Lading, export certificate and DVLA export documentation.
