UK Vehicle Exporters Cookie Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
The short version: this website sets no cookies of its own, and we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of any kind. Nothing that could set one loads unless you ask for it — the map on our contact page waits until you press a button. We count visits with a statistics service that sets no cookies, and you can turn it off. The detail is below.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so that something can be remembered between page loads. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage and tracking pixels — do much the same job. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) allows a site to store information on your device without asking only where it is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for. Anything else needs your consent first.
Cookies we set
None. This site is a set of static pages. It has no login for visitors, no shopping basket and no session to remember, so there is nothing it needs to store on your device. We run no Google Analytics and no advertising pixels.
Visitor statistics
We count visits to this site with Vercel Web Analytics, a statistics service from our hosting provider. For each page you view it records the page address, the site or link that sent you here, your rough location (country, region and city), your type of device, its operating system and browser, and the date and time. We use these figures only to see which pages are useful and to improve the site.
It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. The script loads from this site's own address. To count each visitor once a day, Vercel makes a coded value from the details your browser sends with each request, and discards it after 24 hours. The statistics do not record your IP address. We cannot use them to identify you or to follow you to other websites, and we do not use them for advertising.
UK law allows statistics like these without asking first, as long as we explain them and let you turn them off. That is why there is no consent banner. To turn them off, press the button below: this browser will then not load the statistics script at all. To remember your choice, the site keeps one small setting in your browser's local storage, and nothing else. Press the button again to turn statistics back on. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat that as turning them off too.
Third-party content that loads on this site
| Service | Where | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps | Our contact page only | The map showing our Truro office is provided by Google, and loading it would let Google set its own cookies. So it does not load until you press "Load map". Until you do, nothing is requested from Google and no cookie is set. There is a plain link to Google Maps beside the button if you would rather not load it at all. No other page carries a map. |
| Vercel | Every page | Our hosting provider serves the site and keeps standard server logs, including your IP address. It also provides the visitor statistics described above. When you send our contact form or sign up for our newsletter, it also runs an invisible check that looks at technical details your browser provides (not what you type) to tell a person from an automated spam program. The check's script loads from this site's own address, only when you send a form, and is there to keep the forms secure. It does not set cookies for visitors to this site. |
Links to our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and WhatsApp pages are ordinary links, not embedded widgets. Nothing is loaded from those companies unless you click through, at which point their own policies apply.
Staff area
The content management system at /admin uses browser storage to keep our staff signed in. It is not part of the public site and nothing there applies to visitors.
Controlling cookies
We set no cookies, and our visitor statistics do not need your consent, so there is no consent banner. You can turn the statistics off with the button under Visitor statistics above. If you want to control what third-party content can store, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies — look for Privacy or Site Settings in Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge. Blocking third-party cookies will not stop this site working; at most the contact page map will not display after you have chosen to load it.
If we later add anything that does set cookies — analytics, for example — we will ask for your consent before it loads, and update this page first.
More information
How we handle personal data more generally is set out in our Privacy Notice. The Information Commissioner's Office publishes plain-English guidance on cookies at ico.org.uk. Any question about this policy can go to sales@vehicleexports.co.uk.
