About Port of Luanda
Luanda is Angola's principal seaport and main import and export gateway, handling more than 625,000 TEU of containers in 2023. The port dates back to 1576 and is administered by the state company Porto de Luanda E.P., which licenses the private terminal operators.
Area served: The port serves Luanda and inland Angola, with the Luanda Railway running east to Malanje Province and the EN-100 highway giving road access.
How Vehicles Are Handled at Luanda
AD Ports Group, with local partners Unicargas and Multiparques, holds a 20-year concession to turn the Luanda Multipurpose Terminal into a container and ro-ro terminal branded Noatum Ports Luanda Terminal. Groundbreaking took place in September 2025, and the rebuilt terminal is planned to cover 192,000 square metres with a 16-metre draught and to handle more than 40,000 vehicles a year alongside 350,000 TEU of containers. Completion was expected in the first quarter of 2027.

Shipping a Car from the UK to Luanda

Government Pre-Shipping Inspection
Where the destination country requires a pre-export roadworthiness inspection, we arrange it with the approved inspection agency before the sailing so the vehicle is not held up on arrival. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
UK Vehicle Collection & Delivery
We collect any vehicle from any UK address and deliver it to the departure port at £1 per mile, driven on DVLA plates or moved on a carrier, timed to meet the booked sailing.
Secure Vehicle Storage
Vehicles wait with us in a secure compound between purchase and sailing, so there is no rush to move a car the day you buy it and nothing accumulating in storage charges at the port. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
Paintwork Reconditioning
Where a car would arrive the better for it, we can recondition the paintwork before it ships — worth doing while the vehicle is with us rather than paying to sort it out after it lands. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
UK Vehicle Customs Clearance
We make export declarations directly on the UK customs system and prepare every document needed at the UK port of exit, including the Bill of Lading, export certificate and DVLA export documentation.
