About Muara Port
Brunei's largest port, opened for commercial operations in 1973. Since July 2018 it has been run by Muara Port Company, a joint venture between Brunei's Darussalam Assets and China's Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group, under the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam. Most of its throughput is imports, with vehicles and manufactured goods among the main cargoes.

How Vehicles Are Handled at Muara
Vehicles are handled at the Muara Conventional Terminal, which takes non-containerised cargo such as break bulk, vehicles and livestock over 611 m of berths with up to 12.5 m draught, backed by 5 hectares of open storage and three transit sheds. RoRo ships berth at this conventional terminal rather than at a dedicated RoRo terminal. Containerised cars go through the Muara Container Terminal, which has a 250 m berth, 12.5 m draught and a capacity of about 220,000 TEU a year; a new container terminal due in 2027 is intended to raise capacity to about 500,000 TEU.
