About Nassau Container Port
Nassau Container Port is the main commercial port for New Providence, opened in 2011 and owned and run by APD Limited (Arawak Port Development). APD is a public-private partnership: 40% is owned by the Bahamas government, 40% by a consortium of shipping investors and 20% by Bahamian members of the public. In the 12 months to June 2025 the port handled 73,084 TEU, 3.3% more than the year before.

APD does not describe a dedicated ro-ro terminal, so vehicles are landed across its container and break-bulk terminals on Arawak Cay; around 19,300 vehicles arrived there in the 12 months to June 2025, 2.3% fewer than the year before. The break-bulk terminal has 600 ft of berth at 21 ft, and the container terminal has three berths at 28 ft worked by three 320-tonne Liebherr mobile harbour cranes. Höegh Autoliners lists Nassau among the destinations of its Caribbean ro-ro feeder service.

Government Pre-Shipping Inspection
Where the destination country requires a pre-export roadworthiness inspection, we arrange it with the approved inspection agency before the sailing so the vehicle is not held up on arrival. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
UK Vehicle Collection & Delivery
We collect any vehicle from any UK address and deliver it to the departure port at £1 per mile, driven on DVLA plates or moved on a carrier, timed to meet the booked sailing.
Secure Vehicle Storage
Vehicles wait with us in a secure compound between purchase and sailing, so there is no rush to move a car the day you buy it and nothing accumulating in storage charges at the port. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
Paintwork Reconditioning
Where a car would arrive the better for it, we can recondition the paintwork before it ships — worth doing while the vehicle is with us rather than paying to sort it out after it lands. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
UK Vehicle Customs Clearance
We make export declarations directly on the UK customs system and prepare every document needed at the UK port of exit, including the Bill of Lading, export certificate and DVLA export documentation.
