About Port of Tema
Tema, commissioned in 1962, is Ghana's largest port and is run by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA). It handles more than 95% of Ghana's container traffic, 1,668,688 TEU in 2024, most of it at Terminal 3, the deep-water container terminal operated by Meridian Port Services with a 1.4 km quay and four berths.

Ro-ro ships use the multipurpose terminal at Terminal 2, which Meridian Port Services handed back to GPHA after moving containers to Terminal 3. It has two berths with more than 11 metres of draught and about 247,000 square metres of paved yard, and GPHA converted it to take general cargo, bagged cargo, ro-ro and bulk vessels. Vehicles shipped in containers are delivered through the Golden Jubilee Terminal, a 97,412 square metre inland clearance depot at the western end of the port with its own car park.

Paintwork Reconditioning
Where a car would arrive the better for it, we can recondition the paintwork before it ships — worth doing while the vehicle is with us rather than paying to sort it out after it lands. Quoted separately from the shipping price.
UK Vehicle Customs Clearance
We make export declarations directly on the UK customs system and prepare every document needed at the UK port of exit, including the Bill of Lading, export certificate and DVLA export documentation.
